"Consider your finances and make sure you have enough money to cover your living costs. Additionally, research the area you are looking to retire in to make sure it meets your needs and fits your lifestyle. It's also important to find out about the healthcare system in the country you are considering, and make sure you understand any visa or residency requirements. Make sure you get to visit the area to get an idea of the culture, available activities and if the area is safe. Talk to other retirees who have already made the move to get their advice and to ensure the country is well suited to your needs. Finally, consider the longevity of your stay – if you plan to move back to your home country at some point, look at the consequences and implications of doing so," explained one expat living in Tallinn, Estonia.
