What should I pack when moving to Denarau Island?

Answer this Question

We asked people living in Denarau Island to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...

"When moving to Denarau Island, you should pack lightweight and breathable clothing due to the tropical climate. Include items such as shorts, t-shirts, and sundresses, as well as a light jacket or sweater for cooler evenings. Swimwear is a must for enjoying the beautiful beaches and resort pools. Pack a good pair of walking shoes or sandals suitable for exploring the island and participating in outdoor activities. Don't forget to pack plenty of sun protection, including a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, and high-SPF sunscreen. You may also want to bring a reusable water bottle to stay hydrated, and insect repellent to protect against mosquitoes. If you plan on dining at upscale restaurants or attending special events, pack a few dressier outfits. Remember to bring all necessary travel documents, such as your passport, driver's license, and any necessary visas or vaccination records. Also, pack any prescription medications you take regularly, along with a basic first-aid kit. Lastly, consider packing a power adapter for your electronics, as the power outlets in Fiji may be different from those in your home country," remarked another expat who made the move to Denarau Island, Fiji.
