As a foreigner living in Iasi, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?
We asked expats in Iasi if they have access to public healthcare in Iasi. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...
"As a foreigner living in Iasi, Romania, you will have access to public healthcare, provided you have registered for health insurance or have a European Health Insurance Card (EHIC). The public healthcare system in Romania is funded through the National Health Insurance Fund, and it covers a wide range of medical services, including primary care, hospitalization, and emergency care. However, the quality of public healthcare in Romania may not be up to the standards you are used to in your home country. The facilities and equipment may be outdated, and there might be long waiting times for certain treatments. Additionally, not all medical staff may speak English fluently. Many foreigners living in Romania choose to use private healthcare services, which offer better quality care and shorter waiting times, but at a higher cost," said a member in Lasi, Romania.
