What are emergency services like in Ireland?
When we asked members about emergency services in Ireland, they wrote...
"Emergency services in Ireland are provided by the National Ambulance Service (NAS). The NAS provides emergency medical services, fire services, and search and rescue services. To call for an ambulance, dial 112 or 999 from any phone. The operator will ask for your location and the nature of the emergency. The operator will then dispatch an ambulance to the scene," wrote a member who made the move to Ireland.

"The nearest hospital is the University College Hospital Galway. This is a dirty, old building with very few doctors many of whom barely speak English. The Galway Clinic (private) is OK but also overburdened. The Bon Secour (private) is also OK," explained one expat living in Galway, Ireland.
