What are the visa & residency requirements in Maine?

Answer this Question

We asked people about the visa & residency requirements in Maine, they wrote...

"To apply for a visa to enter Maine, applicants must fill out form DS-160 and submit it to the U.S. Embassy. Applicants should also provide copies of a valid passport, financial evidence, proof of employment and a letter of recommendation from a U.S. citizen. After the documents are accepted, an interview will be scheduled, and a consular officer will review the applicant’s qualifications and documents before making a decision regarding the visa application. In order to apply for residency in Maine, an applicant must first establish residency within the state. This can be done by finding a place to live, obtaining a driver’s license and registering to vote, if applicable. Once the applicant has established residency, they can submit form I-485, the application for adjustment of status, along with proof of residency, evidence of financial stability and other required documents. After the Form I-485 is reviewed and approved, the applicant will receive a green card and be granted permanent residence in the United States," said another expat in Maine.
