Hello,
My partner and I are about to move to Colombo from the UK for work, whereupon we want to start trying for a family. If all goes well, we would be pregnant in Sri Lanka.
However, we are undecided whether my partner should stay in Sri Lanka for the birth or return to the UK (obviously that means leaving 3 months before the due date and not returning until baby can fly, 3 months afterwards). We know that Sri Lanka generally has very good health care and that in the private hospitals it's likely to be of very high standard. But, god forbid that anything should go wrong with the pregnancy or birth or in those first few months, we can't help but think it would be better to be at home.
We'd really appreciate hearing any experiences that forum users may have had being pregnant and giving birth in Sri Lanka, and any suggestions or tips they might have with regards to hospitals and delivery services etc.
Thanks!!
