There is a lot of diversity in Perth caused by the influx of people moving in to work in industry. Generally I would say people are accepting of each other without issue.

What are the main industries in this city? What types of career opportunities commonly exist? How do most people find new jobs?

Mining and Offshore Oil and Gas are the major drivers in Perth. Trades, Engineers and just anyone with talent is in demand.

In general, what are peoples' priorities in this city? For example, do lives revolve around work, family, socializing, sports, etc.?

Perth has a mix of those fanatical about work and sports. Fly in / Fly out jobs to the mining and oil and gas areas are common and put strain on those families. Family and sports play a major role in the community. Outdoor sports are happening all year round in major numbers.

Just do it. Perth is a fantastic city and well worth the move.
