What are the pros and cons of living in Australia?
Expats, digital nomads and retirees living in Australia responded:
"Expats and digital nomads often appreciate the laid-back lifestyle and friendly people in Australia. They also enjoy the country's diverse culture, stunning landscapes, and abundance of outdoor activities. Additionally, the country's strong economy and excellent healthcare system are attractive to many expats. On the other hand, some expats and digital nomads may find the cost of living in Australia to be quite high, as well as the distance from other countries. Additionally, the climate can be quite extreme in some parts of the country, with hot summers and cold winters," said one member in Australia.
"After 14 years I have a love/hate relationship with Sydney. With over 5 million people the city is bursting at the seams and is suffering from growing pains. I am thoroughly displeased with both the state federal politicians and hope that some real change will be coming soon. My husband and I have bought land in Tasmania and will be moving there as soon as the kids are done with school. But I adore the Australian ethos. Home life matters just as much as work life. Holidays are almost considered a birthright here. I can send my teens all over the city on public transport by themselves with reasonable belief in their safety. I wish Diet Coke was cheaper and I would kill for decent Tex Mex or pizza, and yes, sometimes the spiders scare the crap out of me....but I will never willingly live outside of Australia again," remarked one expat in Sydney.
