What advice would you give someone preparing to move to your area about the actual move, choosing a neighborhood and finding a home?

Take only what you need, clothes, books; buy antiques in the area -very nice and reasonable, small town Bruges-if you find a nice place in the center with a large garden and good parking available this is ideal. If you have children living outside the city is very pleasant and near the small woods/parks.

What type of housing do you live in? Is this typical for most expats in your area?

Land house - of the people I know it is not typical.

How did you choose your neighborhood and find your home or apartment?

Family-in-law found our first townhouse; A real-estate agent the second house.

Are your housing costs higher or lower than they were in your home country? What is the average cost of housing there?

Housing costs: rental, lower; water, sewer, heating, higher; buying a home, higher.
