Belize for 6-12 months

Hello ex-pats! We want to do a long term rental, 6-12 months, in 2021 to see if Belize is the right place for us to stay permanently. Interested in corresponding with people to get ideas and recs about lifestyle and places to rent. Retired Marine officer and former Hallmark Cards merch manager, currently living in South Carolina. We are VERY active, i.e. pickleball, working out, but love the beach (we live about five miles from the beach now). Anyone willing to guide us? Thank you!
