My husband and I will be arriving in Belize July 3 and staying through January. We visited Ambergris some years ago, but are looking for a less touristy area to consider for long term. We decided to stay in Placencia for the duration, but check out different areas while there. Our long term goal is to settle in Belize within a few years. We are selling everything and being nomads between a few places for a couple of years. Looking forward to meeting ex-pats in the community to get a feel for long term living there. Are there any Placencia folks here in the forum? We will be staying close to the actual town of Placencia and planning to walk mostly. We will be looking at properties while there to get a feel for what's available and where we would like to live on the peninsula. Can't wait to be there and start meeting people and checking it out.
