Apartments near SJC and swimming in Caye Caulker

Hi!

I'm in Belize City now for a look-n-see. Interested in relocating next January. Would like a one-bedroom or studio that would be relatively safe within walking distance of St. John's College. I'm looking for two things: 1) estimates of how much rent and utilities might cost and 2) any leads of who I could contact about specific apartments when the time gets closer.

The second thing is that I want to go swimming tomorrow or Saturday. I realize that many if not most Belizeans do not swim. I was thinking of taking the ferry to Caye Caulker, but I am not sure if there is swimming there, or if there might be some other place that I could go. I would appreciate any suggestions or information.
