crime in Costa Rica

There is a lot of controversy surrounding the safety of living there, I can only say that I visited Manuel Antonio for 10 days, one of the most affluent towns in the whole country, and I was robbed!!! Having a cocktail at an upscale bar/dance club. It was the way the crime was committed that left me feeling very weary of the Costa Rican people!! Sitting at a bar with my wrist wallet 4inches under my nose, I turned my head for a split second when I heard the sound of breaking glass only to look down and my wallet was gone. So basically, the calculated, sneaky and down right SLIMY way the people treat the tourists that basically help support their economy is nothing short of DISGUSTING!!!!
