Manizales

We love the climate in Bogota but it is a bit "gray". Medellin is an awesome city but the climate is too hot (unless you take the cablecar to Arvi!). We loved hiking near Salento which is too rural to call home, but found Pereira a bit dirty. Manizales sounds perfect on paper but unfortunately wehaven't yet visited. Whhat's the best way to take a spend a week in Manizales to explore neighborhoods and get a quick "feel"?

Of course we might retire elsewhere - we are 60, but active.
