Jobs for Wife of Jamaican Man

I am engaged to a Jamaican man.

We did not meet on vacation but through a friend who was there and has know this man for a long time. I got to know him for 7 months by telephone and then traveled there.

I spent 8 months there getting to know him and his family and some of the Jamaican ways of life.

If I move there and marry him what kind of work could be available to me? He has a small business in a resort town but does not earn enough to support both of us.

Do the resorts or other businesses ever hire administrative/desk clerk/ personal assistant types like me? If so, would Jamaican people be upset with me for taking jobs from them?
