Life in Johor Bahru

Hello :)

I'm a South African (from Durban) applying for work in Johor Bahru.

Can anyone tell me a little about the city? I was hoping for information about pollution, public spaces like botanical gardens or other recreational spaces (beaches?), public transportation, and the approximate cost of monthly groceries and utilities (for a family of 4).
