I want to move to New York

I'm a young english guy (24 to be exact) and I want to move to New York but right now I don't understand anything that I'm looking at. Could someone please point me in the right direction like who I should talk to, how do I get a Visa. I don't have a company to sponsor me or any relatives. What on earth should I do?
