choosing where to live and living in higher altitudes

Hi Everyone, I am new to this chat and also new to chat forums. We are looking into retirement sometime this year. We were looking at rental sites for Panama and Altos del Maria looked wonderful. Is anyone on this chat forum living there? What is is like? Are there accessible places for buying fresh veggies, fish and foods in general without having to go into Panama City. Is the water potable? Is this area less prone to earthquakes and mud slides. If we come to Panama for a look-see first, we would like someone with expertise and someone we could trust to show us around. Can you suggest someone? Lastly for the moment, how is the adjustment living in higher altitudes. We are currently living 500 ft above sea level. thanks for your help. Look forward to chatting.
