Gamboa for Expats

Can anyone share some good /bad experience of living in Gamboa. The town is about 25 minutes from the city, is in the heart of the rainforest, has a good expat community, and is the central place for Smithsonian Institute in Panama. Seems this area doesn't get a lot of press, but while out of the way, has a quiet atmosphere, is family oriented. Just looking for comments?
