Becoming an expat wife?

How hard is it to start a business in Panama? I will soon be an expats wife and the thought of sitting in a hotel room alone all day is daunting. I've read a lot of blogs and most women say they are challenged finding things to do and not get bored. I'd like to hear your stories and your experiences. I am in mid 40's very active and have a M.A. in psychology and a real estate broker. I realize my options are limited in Panama?
