Many roofs have been torn off, trees uprooted, etc.? Those are common occurrences in El Valle dry seasons. I have had five trees down on one day. Ok know of persons who have skeedaddled after their first dry season. What's new?

Hi Larry
As I have been told by Jim Reid who has lived here 60 years, the area between Penonome and El Valle is the windiest part of Panama. These winds originate in the Sahara and come across the Atlantic called the Trade Winds. Once they cross the Caribbean we are in the perfect spot to rip across the isthmus into the Pacific. Sort of like the Venturi carburetor effect going on.
