I am not really in the rental business but I do have a very nice cabin for rent which is only about one kilometre from town. It takes 5 or 6 minutes to drive to the centre of Volcan and yet the setting is completely in the country. It is very private with no noise from any of the neighbours. You just hear the birds in the morning. From the cabin you can only see the house where I live. It is two story with a total of about 1500 sq. feet of living space Upstairs it has two bedrooms and a bath plus a balcony. Downstairs there is a large kitchen, a dining room and a living room plus a half bath and laundry room. It has a porch and it's own yard completely fenced in with cyclone. It has a carport with a small attached workshop. There are a lot of trees and woods on the property which is about 15 acres in size. There is also a stable and enough pasture for a horse or two. The family renting it now are moving back to the States the end of this month so it will be available June 1 st. I am renting it unfurnished for $500 a month including electricity and internet and water. The water comes from Idaan but I have a 2000 gallon cement reservoir with a pump and a pressure tank so I almost never run out of water. Propane for your stove and hot water heater is not included. I like to keep it rented so there is someone on the property when I visit my wife in the Dominican Republic. The people currently renting the cabin have several horses which I imagine they are going to sell. I am very fluent in Spanish so I would be happy to help any newcomers who might rent the cabin if they need a translator or any other kind of advice about living in Panama. The area here is very safe. Nobody takes anything even though I often leave tools out on my porch. From the road the cabin is not visible to someone driving by.
