Residence requirement for retirement visa

I meet all the requirements and have been planning on moving to Portugal this year, in June. But the six month lease thing is my stumbling block. Can you rent and pay for a one-month lease and then promise to work with a real estate agent to find another place? I do not want to commit 6 months to a place I haven't seen.

Does anyone in or around Porto know an agent who would work with me on this?
