Insight on moving with dogs to Guildford, Surrey

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats. I'm considering a move to the Guildford area from California. I would like to live the English country side dream and rent a detached house with a decent local in biking distance. As well as the ability for my dogs to run and play. I don't mind sitting on a bus or train for a bit to get to work.
Is this possible or am I way out on this? I've looked at FindAProperty.com and it there appears to be properties that match my needs but who knows what the reality is.
