"The cost of living in Massachusetts is relatively high compared to other US states, with average rental rates higher than the US national average, and costs for goods and services also generally higher than many other US states. A nice one bedroom apartment in Massachusetts usually costs around $1,400 per month, while a nice two bedroom can cost up to $2,200 per month. Eating out at a moderately priced restaurant could cost anywhere from $15-$25 per person depending on the establishment," remarked one expat in Massachusetts.
