The cons of living in Florida include the high cost of insurance, the threat of hurricanes, and the high cost of living in some areas.

"The cost of living in Florida varies depending on the area, but generally tends to be higher than the national average. Rent for a 1 bedroom apartment in Florida can range from around $800 to $1,600 per month, and rent for a 2 bedroom apartment can range from around $1,000 to $2,200 per month. Dinner for two at a moderately priced restaurant will usually cost around $50," said one expat living in Florida.
