However, the locals in Kratie are friendly and welcoming, and it's not difficult to make connections. Culturally, Kratie offers a glimpse into traditional Cambodian life. There are several Buddhist temples in and around the town, and the local market is a hub of activity. The nearby Irrawaddy dolphin sanctuary is a popular attraction, and the surrounding countryside is dotted with rice paddies and small villages. Recreational activities in Kratie are largely centered around the natural environment.
