How do I find a place to live in Amman?

We asked expats how they chose their neighborhood and found a place to live. They answered:

"To find a place to live in Amman, you can start by researching online on websites such as Airbnb, Booking.com, and Expedia to find short-term rentals or hotels. For long-term rentals, you can visit local real estate websites like Propertyfinder.jo, Bayut.jo, and Expatriates.com. These websites offer listings for apartments, villas, and houses for rent in various neighborhoods in Amman. Another option is to join Facebook groups dedicated to housing and expats in Amman, such as "Expats in Amman" and "Amman Apartments for Rent." These groups often have members posting available properties and can be a great resource for finding a place to live. You can also visit local real estate agencies in Amman, where agents can help you find a suitable place based on your preferences and budget. Some reputable agencies include Abdoun Real Estate, Better Homes, and Laith Al-Qasem Real Estate. When searching for a place to live, consider factors such as proximity to work or school, access to public transportation, and the availability of amenities such as grocery stores, restaurants, and parks. Popular neighborhoods for expats in Amman include Abdoun, Jabal Amman, and Sweifieh. Once you have found a potential place to live, make sure to inspect the property thoroughly and discuss the rental terms with the landlord or agent. Ensure that you have a clear understanding of the rental agreement, including the duration of the lease, monthly rent, and any additional fees or maintenance costs," explained one person living in Amman, Jordan.
