"In Paros, you should be aware of some of the local customs and etiquette to avoid causing offense. Greeting people politely and respectfully is important, as is avoiding displays of public affection. Whenever possible, dress modestly and refrain from wearing overly revealing clothes. When drinking alcohol, do so in moderation, as excessive drinking is generally frowned upon. Smoking is also considered offensive to many, so it is best to avoid smoking in public places such as restaurants, though there are some designated smoking areas. As a courtesy, always ask before taking photographs of people. Finally, respect the local landscape; don’t litter, avoid touching or damaging archaeological sites, and try to stay on marked paths when walking in areas of natural beauty," said a member in Paros, Greece.
