What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Savusavu. They wrote...
"One of the most challenging aspects of the local culture for expats in Savusavu is the language barrier. English is not widely spoken in the area, so it can be difficult for expats to communicate with locals. Additionally, the local culture is very different from what many expats are used to, and it can take some time to adjust to the different customs and traditions. Expats may also find it difficult to find familiar products and services, as many of the items available in Savusavu are unique to the area. Finally, expats may find it difficult to make friends with locals, as there can be a sense of distrust between the two groups," remarked another expat who made the move to Savusavu, Fiji.
"Trying to remain positive and moving forward. Problem solving, as every day is a challenge," explained one expat living in Savusavu, Fiji.
