As a foreigner living in Savusavu, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Savusavu if they have access to public healthcare in Savusavu. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Savusavu, you will have access to public healthcare. However, the public healthcare system in Fiji may not be as comprehensive or advanced as what you may be accustomed to in your home country. Medical facilities in Savusavu are limited, and more advanced treatments or specialized care may require traveling to larger cities like Suva or Nadi. It is important to note that public healthcare services may be crowded, and waiting times can be long. Additionally, some medications or medical supplies may not always be readily available. It is recommended that foreigners consider obtaining private health insurance to ensure access to better quality healthcare services and facilities," explained one expat living in Savusavu, Fiji.
