What do expats find most challenging?
We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Monterrey. They wrote...
"Expats in Monterrey find the language barrier to be one of the most significant challenges, as English is not widely spoken. Another challenge is getting used to the slower pace of life which can be quite different from their home countries. Additionally, the locals tend to be quite traditional and conservative, which can be an adjustment for some expats. Understanding local customs and learning the vernacular can take some time, further challenging the experience," remarked another expat who made the move to Monterrey, Mexico.
