There is a small but active expat community in Battambang, consisting mainly of retirees, volunteers, and teachers. This community often organizes social events and gatherings, providing opportunities for socializing and networking. Battambang is rich in cultural attractions, with numerous temples, French colonial architecture, and traditional Khmer houses. The city is also known for its vibrant arts scene, with several galleries and art schools. The Phare Ponleu Selpak, a famous circus school, offers regular performances that are a must-see.
