For more serious medical issues, patients may need to travel to the nearby island of Koh Samui, which has better-equipped hospitals and a wider range of medical services. It is essential for visitors to have travel insurance that covers medical expenses, as the cost of treatment can be high. Additionally, it is recommended to bring any necessary prescription medications, as they may not be readily available on the island," wrote a member who made the move to Koh Phangan, Thailand.
