Is there a lot of diversity? Are people in Macao accepting of differences?

Answer this Question

When we asked people about diversity in Macao and whether locals are accepting of differences, they said...

"Macau is and has always been a mulicultural city. Nowhere else does the est meet the west to such an extend... Everyone is very open minded, and one can find in Macau many churches, temples etc... Of course, the dominant population is Chinese, but most of them speak really good English and Foreigners feel very much welcome. And the local government works on accentuating this phenomena," said another expat in Macao, China.

"Macao is home to a diverse population of people from different backgrounds, including Portuguese, Chinese, South Asian and Filipino. People in Macao are generally very accepting of differences and generally live in harmony, regardless of their cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Macao has very low levels of discrimination and locals strive to maintain the city's harmony and inclusivity," wrote a member who made the move to Macao, China, China.
