What should I pack when moving to San Clemente?
We asked people living in San Clemente to list three things they wish they had brought and three they wish they had left behind. They responded...
"When moving to San Clemente, you should pack lightweight clothing due to the warm, tropical climate. Include items like shorts, t-shirts, and sandals, but also pack a few long-sleeved shirts and pants for cooler evenings or mosquito protection. A lightweight rain jacket or umbrella is essential as sudden rain showers are common. Don't forget your swimsuit and beach towel as the town is known for its beautiful beaches. Also, pack a hat, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen to protect yourself from the strong equatorial sun. Bring comfortable walking shoes for exploring the town and surrounding areas. If you plan on hiking or exploring the mountains, pack appropriate gear including hiking boots and a backpack. Pack all necessary toiletries, including insect repellent and any prescription medications you may need. While these items can be found in Ecuador, they may not be the same brands you're used to. Bring a Spanish-English dictionary or phrasebook, as English is not widely spoken in San Clemente. Pack a power adapter for your electronics, as the outlets in Ecuador may be different from those in your home country. Lastly, don't forget to bring important documents such as your passport, driver's license, and any necessary visas or permits. It's also a good idea to have copies of these documents in case they get lost or stolen," said a member in San Clemente, Ecuador.
