As a foreigner living in Suva, will I have access to public healthcare? What is it like?

Answer this Question

We asked expats in Suva if they have access to public healthcare in Suva. And, if they do have access, what is it like. They wrote...

"As a foreigner living in Suva, you will have access to public healthcare, but the quality and availability of services may not be up to the standards you are used to in your home country. Public healthcare in Fiji is provided through a network of hospitals, health centers, and nursing stations, with the Colonial War Memorial Hospital in Suva being the largest and most well-equipped facility. However, public healthcare facilities in Fiji often face challenges such as limited resources, outdated equipment, and staff shortages. It is recommended that foreigners living in Fiji also consider obtaining private health insurance to access private healthcare facilities, which generally offer better quality services and shorter waiting times," remarked another expat in Suva, Fiji.
