What do people like (and dislike) about Suva?

Answer this Question

When we asked expats and global nomads what they like and dislike about living in Suva, they replied...

"Expats and digital nomads generally like the friendly and welcoming nature of the Fijian people in Suva, as well as the laid-back island lifestyle. They appreciate the beautiful natural surroundings, including the beaches, lush greenery, and warm climate. The relatively low cost of living is also a plus, as it allows for a comfortable lifestyle without breaking the bank. The local cuisine, which includes fresh seafood and tropical fruits, is another highlight for many. On the other hand, expats and digital nomads may dislike the limited availability of certain goods and services, as well as the sometimes slow pace of life, which can make it difficult to get things done efficiently. The infrastructure, particularly in terms of internet connectivity, can be unreliable and slow, which can be frustrating for those who rely on it for work. Additionally, the healthcare system may not be up to the standards that some expats are used to, and there can be a language barrier for those who do not speak English or Fijian. Finally, the humidity and rainy season can be uncomfortable for some, and the risk of tropical storms and cyclones may be a concern," remarked another expat in Suva, Fiji.
