However, the quality of public healthcare in Lima can vary, with some facilities being overcrowded and understaffed, leading to long waiting times and limited resources. It is important to note that public healthcare in Peru might not cover all medical treatments or specialized care, so it is recommended for foreigners to also have private health insurance to ensure access to a wider range of services and higher-quality care.
