We asked people in Czech Rep if they could share any humorous cultural blunders they commited. For new expats, keep in mind that these incidents are an inevitable part of expat life. Learning to laugh about them is the key!...

"It is important to be aware of the cultural norms in Czechia and to avoid making any cultural faux pas. It is important to be respectful of the local customs and to be aware of the local etiquette. For example, it is considered rude to be late for appointments or to be too casual in dress. It is also important to be aware of the local language and to avoid speaking English unless it is necessary. Additionally, it is important to be aware of the local customs regarding physical contact, as it is considered inappropriate to touch someone without their permission. Finally, it is important to be aware of the local customs regarding alcohol consumption, as it is considered inappropriate to drink excessively," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Czech Rep.

"Pronouncing vocab wrongly..finding out its totally different..saying no instead of yes to a cab driver lol," commented one expat who made the move to Prague, Czech Rep.
