We asked expats and digital nomads what they find the most challenging about the local culture in Tanzania. They wrote...
"Learning to be more patient; having things not happen as quickly as I am used to," mentioned another expat when asked about moving to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
"Expats in Tanzania often find the local culture to be quite different from their own, which can be challenging to adjust to. Language barriers can be a challenge, as English is not widely spoken in Tanzania. Additionally, the local customs and traditions can be difficult to understand and navigate. Expats may also find the pace of life in Tanzania to be slower than what they are used to, which can be difficult to adjust to. Finally, the lack of modern amenities and infrastructure can be a challenge for expats who are used to more developed countries," commented one expat who made the move to Tanzania.
