What are the most challenging aspects of retiring in Turkmenistan?

Answer this Question

We asked retirees what they find the most challenging about retiring in Turkmenistan. They wrote...

"One of the most challenging aspects of retiring in Turkmenistan is the lack of a comprehensive pension system. There is no public pension system in place, and the few private pension funds that exist are not well regulated. Additionally, the cost of living in Turkmenistan is relatively high, making it difficult for retirees to make ends meet. Furthermore, the country's healthcare system is not well developed, making it difficult for retirees to access quality medical care. Finally, the country's political and economic situation is unstable, making it difficult to plan for the future," remarked another expat who made the move to Turkmenistan.
