What do I need to know before moving to Barbados?
When we asked people what advice they would give someone preparing to move to Barbados, they said...
"Before moving to Barbados, expats should be aware that the official language is English, although Bajan Creole is widely spoken. Expats should also be aware that the currency is the Barbadian dollar, which is pegged to the US dollar. Additionally, expats should be aware that the climate is tropical and humid, with temperatures ranging from 21°C to 32°C. Expats should also be aware that the cost of living in Barbados is relatively high, and that the healthcare system is well-developed. Finally, expats should be aware that the culture is diverse and welcoming, and that there are many activities and attractions to explore," commented one expat who made the move to Barbados.
