Answer this Question

When we asked expats what advice they would give a foreigner before buying a property in Grenada, they said...

"1. It is important to research the local laws and regulations regarding property ownership in Grenada before making any purchase. 2. It is advisable to hire a local lawyer to assist with the purchase process and to ensure that all legal requirements are met. 3. It is important to obtain a title search to ensure that the property is free of any liens or encumbrances. 4. It is important to obtain a survey of the property to ensure that the boundaries are accurate and that the property is not encroaching on any other land. 5. It is important to obtain a building inspection to ensure that the property is structurally sound and that any necessary repairs are identified. 6. It is important to obtain a valuation of the property to ensure that the purchase price is fair and reasonable. 7. It is important to obtain a deed of sale to ensure that the transfer of ownership is legally binding. 8. It is important to obtain a certificate of occupancy to ensure that the property is suitable for habitation. 9. It is important to obtain a certificate of title to ensure that the property is registered in the buyer's name. 10.
