Spiders and snakes exist in Belize?

All this talk about spiders and snakes is cracking me up! We're making our first trip to Belize in May and it never once occurred to me that we would NOT encounter spiders and snakes there. Spiders and snakes are everywhere, except maybe Ireland. (I always hear there are no snakes in Ireland.) There certainly are spiders and snakes here in Texas. Just sayin' . . .
