Planning to start a business in Cartagena...Where is the best place to live in the area? ...

I visited Colombia for the first time a few weeks ago and I had the time of my life. I was only in Cartagena for 5 days but I loved every second of it. I primarily stayed in Old City which I know is mostly for tourists but even with the limited exposure to Colombia, I instantly fell in love with the country.
While I was in Cartagena I noticed a potential business opportunity that was not available there or in the other cities of Colombia after I did more research. The plan is to start out in Cartagena and depending on the success and demand of the business I may expand to Medellin and Bogota but Cartagena is where I see this doing really well initially.
Having said that, I will more than likely have to live in Cartagena as I try to get this up and running since it wouldn't be practical to fly in every morning. Fortunately, the business does not need a retail space right away so I won't have to deal with that. I'm just concerned about having to pay touristy prices (food, rent, etc) all the time if I live in Cartagena.
So my question is are there any areas relatively close or within short driving distance where I can live but don't have the higher price tags?
