Safest banks in Colombia

Up until now I have only taken ATM withdrawals for money here from a US fdic insured bank. There is no FDIC type of safety here that i have heard of for our money.

Is there a way to tell which are the ¨safest´back here. (thinking of the Monex bank thread in SMA mexico)

Any personal recommendations/good/bad experiences with certain banks?

I hear BBVA is based in Spain, so I am thinking probably safer than a Colombian, or other South American based banks.

Any suggestions?
