We moved to Sonderborg, Denmark in July this year with a view to have our kids learn Danish and understand the culture and traditions. Having lived around the world for the past years, we placed our kids in the International School of Sonderborg. We have had nothing but trouble since. Teachers are not qualified to teach some subject, especially Danish. The Danish teacher has had no teaching experience whatsoever. Most of the kids speak Danish, even though the language medium is English. Kids in Year 6 and below attend only 4 hours of school a day. Kids in Year 8,9,10 are grouped together in one class. There is no ICT, Art, Humanities. It is mandatory to sit for 10 O'level subjects, including German! In short, it is not a wholly international school, rather a Danish school that just happens to speak English. I would seriously think twice before deciding on the school.
