Im a 29 year old UK citizen looking to move to JA erly next year. My partner is Jamaican and he will be moving back with me. He has been away since 2006 so no doubt a lot of things have changed! I am currently looking into visa's, a difficult process on its own! He will obviously not need a visa but I understand that I will need one after 6 months is that correct? sooner if I wish to work. We are planning to get married but not any time soon but I dont know how it will work with my visa if we are not married. We have no children together but he has a daughter that lives in Jamaica. I am currretnly in the bridal/beauty business but I have a degree in Sciences and have prviously worked for Public Helath in th UK so I may fall back on that if it is easer to get a job there.
Is there any recommended sites to find housing? We are looking to rent an apartment/house. Ideally 3 bedrooms but would be ok with 1 short-term. We would like Westmoreland or St Anns but I can only find places online that seem very expensive..ie the same as rent in UK!
