I am a single 41 year old UK female hoping to move to Kingston, Jamaica to live and work. I am currently working as Office Manager for a Global PR agency who unfortunately don’t have an office in Jamaica! I am happy to work in hospitality, banking, administration or any other role that pays a decent amount to live on in Jamaica. It would be really helpful to know what the average salary is for this type of work and if anyone knows what the employment situation is like – will it be difficult for me to find work?
I already have my TRN card and I am in the process of applying for Jamaican citizenship. My father is Jamaican which apparently makes this application an easy procedure providing that I have his surname and I can submit my father’s birth certificate.
I have joined this forum to get as much information as possible to help me with my transition and I would also like to communicate with like-minded people. I have only recently become serious about moving and realise there is so much more to look into. Any advice and help would be much appreciated :-)
